“The recognition of being part of the BAFICI appears at this very hard, cruel and gloomy moment for Argentine cinema. Despite this, we are very happy to have achieved it because everything seemed to work against it,” Gieco emphasized and then remarked: “This film, from the beginning, was an act of love. The relationship between the technical team and actors was wonderful. A process that we will remember for its creativity and energy. There was a passionate commitment to the work that in its history addresses a sensitive topic such as family violence but not in a sensational or stereotypical way; Its plot has to do with the path that Mariana, the protagonist, travels through moments of great pain but with the support of her loved ones she manages to strengthen herself internally as a person and move forward.

Afterwards, the Santa Fe director with vast international experience said he was “happy, proud, expectant and excited about participating in the BAFICI. We achieved a beautiful film, a sensory experience that leads us to deeply feel the pain and loneliness of the protagonist, as well as her determination not to abide by an oppressive situation and move firmly towards the unknown fighting for her truth. It is a work that comes from the heart with which we intend to convey emotion, raise many questions and make visible an issue that is present but underlying on the public agenda.”

The Buenos Aires Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival (BAFICI) is one of the most important events in Latin America. Annually it brings together the most outstanding films by national and international filmmakers, such as in this case “El Infierno de los Vivos”. It is the space where innovative and avant-garde cinema is disseminated, those films and shorts that do not usually reach movie theaters the rest of the year.
